Free Will of Man

We take as the basis of our beliefs the life and teaching of Jesus Christ. We believe that it is each individual’s responsibility and right to make a personal choice to accept or reject salvation provided by the redemptive work of Christ on the cross. Salvation is not received by church membership, but by being born again. John 3:3

The Bible

We believe that the Bible is God’s Word, the inspired record of divine revelation, written under the inspiration of the same Holy Spirit that interprets its divine truths to us, the revelation of Himself to humanity. It is trustworthy, sufficient, without error – the supreme authority and guide for all doctrine and conduct. “Its author is God, its message is Grace, its motive is Love, and its purpose is Salvation.” 2 Timothy 3:16

God

We believe that there is but one God, a Spiritual and Personal being, infinite in holiness and power; that He has been revealed to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19

Christ

We believe that Jesus is the divine Son of God, and that He has made atonement for our sins, and is the only way of salvation for lost sinners. We believe that men find salvation by repentance for their sins and by their faith in Jesus Christ as their divine Saviour. John 3:16

Ordinances

We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion in water of believers in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; that it is an emblem of our faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Saviour; and a symbol of our death to sin and resurrection to a new life.

We, as baptized believers, believe that in the Lord’s Supper we set forth the death and second coming of Christ. Romans 6:4

We summarize our beliefs in this condensed statement of Baptist doctrine:

  • The Lordship of Jesus
  • The authority of the New Testament
  • The symbolism of the ordinances
  • An experience of new birth
  • The democracy of the individual church
